Patigro LLC Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Thank you for reading our privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy"). Patigro LLC, doing business as Patigro and Patigro Title Services ("Patigro", "we", "our", or "us"), handles sensitive family and property information every day. We want you to know what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
Patigro provides title, genealogy, and fact research to law firms and attorneys ("Client Firms") handling Texas Affidavits of Heirship, Determinations of Heirship, and related inherited-property matters. To do that work, we research the property and family of a person who has died, including heirs, relatives, and people who knew the family ("Matter Individuals"). We deliver the results to the Client Firm as an attorney-review file (together, the "Services"). Patigro is not a law firm, does not give legal advice, and does not determine legal heirship.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information on https://patigro.com (the "Website") and in providing the Services.
1. When we collect information
We may collect personal information when you:
- Request a demo or apply for a pilot through our Website.
- Send us a matter, or upload or email documents to us.
- Contact us by email, phone, or text.
- Speak with us as a family member, heir, or witness on a matter.
- Visit our Website, where basic technical information is collected automatically. Learn more in the cookies section below.
To research a matter, we also collect personal information from public records and from third-party data providers. This includes county property and court records, appraisal district records, probate and vital records indexes, obituaries, and people-search services. We use these sources to find, verify, and document the facts a Client Firm needs.
2. Categories of personal information we collect
Client Firm information
To serve Client Firms, we collect information from or about the attorneys and staff we work with, including:
- Contact information, such as names, job titles, firm names, email addresses, phone numbers, and mailing addresses.
- Information about your practice that you choose to share, such as the number of heirship matters you handle.
- Correspondence, including anything you tell us by email, phone, or text.
- Billing information needed to invoice for the Services. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, and we do not store full card numbers.
- Basic technical information from your visits to our Website, such as IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of your visit.
Matter information
To provide the Services, we collect information about the person who died and about Matter Individuals. It may come from the Client Firm, from Matter Individuals directly, or from the records we search. It can include:
- Names, including former and married names, and contact information such as addresses, phone numbers, and emails.
- Family relationships, including spouses, children, parents, siblings, and other relatives.
- Dates and places of birth, marriage, divorce, and death.
- Property information, such as deeds, recorded instruments, tax records, and ownership history.
- Information in documents a Client Firm provides, such as wills, death certificates, and court filings. These may include sensitive personal information, such as government identifiers or health-related information like a cause of death.
- Notes from interviews with family members, heirs, and witnesses.
- Correspondence, including anything shared with us by email, phone, or text.
A person can be both a Client Firm contact and a Matter Individual. In that case, we treat their information according to each role.
3. Business purposes for collecting personal information
Subject to our agreements with Client Firms, we may use personal information to:
- Provide our Website and Services, including researching matters and preparing attorney-review files.
- Respond to demo and pilot requests and communicate with Client Firms.
- Contact family members, heirs, and witnesses when a matter requires it.
- Keep the sources behind each file available so a Client Firm can check or rely on our work later.
- Bill for the Services.
- Improve our Website and Services.
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, and comply with the law.
- Meet any legal obligation, including responding to a court order, subpoena, or other legal process.
- Do anything else you direct or agree to.
We may also create de-identified or combined information that does not identify anyone, and use it for any purpose, such as understanding how long matters take.
4. How we disclose personal information
We deliver the research on a matter to the Client Firm that asked for it, and to others only at that firm's direction. We never sell personal information.
We may also share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, including:
- Public record and people-search providers that help us find and verify records and contact information.
- Artificial intelligence providers, such as Anthropic, that help us organize and summarize research.
- Email, document storage, and communications providers, such as Google.
- Website hosting and form providers, such as Cloudflare and Web3Forms.
- Payment processors.
In addition, we may share personal information to:
- Protect the legal rights of our Client Firms, our company, and the people we work with.
- Protect the safety and security of anyone using our Website and Services.
- Detect and prevent fraud.
- Comply with the law or legal process, including a court-ordered production of information in a probate or heirship proceeding.
- Complete due diligence for, or the sale of, our business or its assets.
We may share de-identified or combined information that does not identify anyone for any purpose.
5. Privacy choices
You can ask us to:
- Show you or correct the personal information we keep about you.
- Delete the personal information we keep about you. We may need to keep some information to meet a legal duty, to protect a Client Firm's matter, or for tax and accounting reasons.
- Stop sending you marketing emails. You can also use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Stop calling or texting you. You can also reply STOP to any text.
To make a request, email rob@patigro.com.
If your information is part of a matter a Client Firm sent us, we may also ask that firm before acting on your request, because the research belongs to their matter.
6. Cookies and other tracking technologies
We do not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or targeted advertising on our Website. We do not currently use your email address for advertising on other websites.
Some technical information is collected automatically when you visit. Our hosting provider may set cookies needed to keep the Website secure and working. Our Website also loads fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy first and explain your choices.
7. Calls and text messages
If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your request or about a matter you are part of. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or your text message consent with anyone for their own marketing.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information in our care from unauthorized access, use, change, or disclosure. We limit access to matter information to the people working on the matter. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never happen. Please use secure methods to send us sensitive documents and let us know if you believe information you sent us has been exposed.
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, unless the law requires or allows us to keep it longer.
We keep the research file and sources for a matter for at least five years after we deliver it, so the facts behind an Affidavit of Heirship can still be supported during its five-year period on record. We keep them longer if the Client Firm asks us to, or if the law requires it. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies people. If that is not possible right away, such as for information in backups, we store it securely and do not use it until it can be deleted.
10. Use of AI tools
We use AI tools to help us search, organize, and summarize research. These tools process matter information on our behalf as service providers. We review research before it goes into an attorney-review file. We do not sell matter information, and we do not allow our service providers to use it for their own marketing.
11. U.S. state-specific notice
Some U.S. states, including Texas, have comprehensive privacy laws. Patigro is a small business and does not currently meet the thresholds that trigger most of the requirements of these laws. We do not sell personal information, including sensitive personal information. If our obligations change, we will update this Privacy Policy and any choices it offers.
12. Children's privacy
Our Website is not directed to children under 13. Because heirs can include minors, a matter may include information about children, which we handle only as part of the research a Client Firm asked for. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information directly through our Website, please email rob@patigro.com and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
Our Website may link to other websites. We do not control those websites or the information they collect. Please read their privacy policies.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Website and Services change. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Please check this page from time to time.
